The Insect Epiphany
It’s out! Please join me in celebrating the hidden ways in which our insect allies – those glorious ten quintillion neighbors of ours – have shaped human culture across the world and throughout our existence as a species. I tried to squeeze in my favorite insect art, music, literature, dance, biomimetic technology, and insect tales. Featured on Science Friday!
(Available for pre-order from Timber Press, Bookshop.org, Barnes and Noble, or any of your favorite bibliophilic book emporiums. The gorgeous cover art is by Elizabeth Jean Younce.)
Entomologist at the intersection of Science & Art
About me
I revel in insect behavior, sleep biology, and the ways in which insects have affected humans throughout history. I studied entomology at Cornell University and the University of Arizona, received a PhD at the University of Texas at Austin, fabricated natural history exhibits at Chase Studio and the American Museum of Natural History, and joined the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse as a professor of Biology in 2012.
